Recently whilst walking in the Retiro park, I came across a huge gathering of tunos and tunas - members of university clubs where people dress up in traditional black and red minstrel gear, and go around with lute or guitar singing and generally serenading people. I never knew this was a tradition in Spain and suddenly I came across several hundred of them, in what’s apparently a yearly gathering.

After a hard day of minstreling, they were kicking back at a cafe, having a few drinks and of course, singing, although mostly this time for their own enjoyment.
