Doctor Who

In 2019 I was part of the animation team working on recreating one of the legendary lost serials of Doctor Who’s early seasons. Before the digital age, film was very expensive and television studios regulary tried to cut costs by re-using tapes. Many of the original recordings of shows in the 1960s were lost due to this process.

These episodes featured the second Doctor, Patrick Troughton, and were originally broadcast in 1967. The original audio was used, and for the design there were still some bits of footage and photos, allowing the new production to faithfully recreate the characters and style. For more information see the Wikipedia page.

The new animated version of The Faceless Ones will be available in 2020, and until then I’m not allowed to post anything other than the trailer above, whose shots I didn’t work on.
